About Kai Nakamura
I’m an independent guide to Oahu whale watching tour. I work the boats out of Kewalo Basin and volunteer on NOAA’s Sanctuary Ocean Count, so I see the whale season from both the deck and the shore. This site compares the real tours so you can book the right one at the right price.
What I do
I research the whale-watching tours available from Oahu, read through the traveller reviews, and write honest, practical guidance on which tour suits which traveller. I explain what the guarantee actually buys you, why the free shore spots matter, and how close boats really get under the 100-yard rule. I’m not a tour operator and I don’t sell tickets — when you’re ready to book, I send you to GetYourGuide to complete your order.
How this site is funded
I earn a small affiliate commission when you book through my links, at no cost to you. That’s what keeps the site free. It never changes which tours I recommend — see my affiliate disclosure for the full picture.
